Nirupa is a Director of Brigade Group's Hospitality division, Brigade Hospitality & a Director of Brigade REAP. She oversees the operations & strategy for the company's self-managed assets, which include convention centres, serviced apartments, lifestyle membership clubs, banquets and event management. She also asset manages the group's hospitality ventures, such as the Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway and Grand Mercure Bangalore, in addition to eight new projects in the pipeline.
Nirupa conceptualised and successfully launched a unique lounge bar atop the World Trade Centre-Bangalore, called HIGH Ultra Lounge, the highest point for food and beverage in South India.
Apart from her role in hospitality she is involved with the group's overall business development and strategy. She is part of new initiatives related to human resources, IT and innovation. She is the brain child behind the Brigade Real Estate Accelerator Program, the first of its kind in India.
Prior to joining Brigade she worked as a Senior Business Analyst with Ernst & Young LLP out of the New York, Washington DC and North Carolina offices. She has bachelors in Economics from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University. She is also a Six Sigma Black Belt.
She has been identified as one of CNBC's "Young Turks" and was listed in Hotelier India's Top 50 Power List 2014. She is the only woman advisory board member for the "Hotelier India" publication.
She has been awarded the Young Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, 2014 at the Infra & Realty Sutra Awards, Rising Star Award 2015 - South Asia by the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, Restaurant Owner of the Year - India 2016 at the Hospitality Leaders' Industry Choice Awards

John comes with 30 years of diverse experience covering Marketing, Sales, Brand building, Customer Relations, Revenue Management, Pricing, General Management, P&L responsibility and entrepreneurship.
As Chief Revenue Officer at Air Deccan - India's pioneer in the Low Cost Airline business, John led a team that revolutionized almost every aspect of commercial operations in the aviation space.
As Executive Vice President at The Oberoi Group, John was responsible for the marketing of Oberoi Hotels and Trident Hotels worldwide.
John's 14 year advertising journey resulted in the creation and launch of several successful brands in the country and was a part of the teams behind award winning and memorable campaigns like Hamara Bajaj, Maruti Omni, Maruti Gypsy, Kawasaki Cheetah, Toyota Qualis and Hitachi air conditioners to name a few.
He hung up his boots in advertising after winning a Cannes in 2000.
Taggle and Propmart were John's solo entrepreneurial ventures. As CEO & Managing Director of Propmart, John turned Propmart into a leading provider of real estate solutions both online and offline with presence across India and 5 countries in the Middle East. Taggle was John's third entrepreneurial venture and his first failure which he exited after 18 months. 3rd time unlucky as he refers to this adventure.
John has helped turned around several loss making companies Contract Advertising, Leo Burnett, Barefoot at Havelock, US Pizza and has mentored several startups - US Pizza , Insta-Clique, Bookyourtable, Oravel ( Now Oyo Rooms) and Treetins to name a few.
In his last avatar, John was with Reliance Industries where at GenNext Ventures, the RIL sponsored Venture fund, he was the Managing Director and thereafter with Reliance Jio supporting the team in Digital engagements. At GenNext, John led investments in several disruptive companies from India and overseas and also set up an accelerator program that is in its 3rd batch now.
He has just gotten off the corporate treadmill and is now following his passion, working with startups through Brigade REAP.
He loves a good game of chess, is an avid reader and now pursuing his new found love for biking.
Apul Nahata has over 20 years of experience spanning consumer Internet, mobile & telephony in the US & India, with 6 years as an Entrepreneur in the Voice Cloud computing space.
Having worked with both Fortune 500 companies and start-ups, Apul has been exposed to the whole spectrum of large budget driven technology R&D and product roll outs on one hand, to delivering disruptive and innovative solutions to bootstrapped companies on the other. One of his core competencies is to harmonize streams of technology, while finding the right product fitment for the overall delivery of value.
He has managed large technical projects and led teams which have built products and services used by millions of users around the world. As the BREW SDK lead at Qualcomm, Apul was a part of the core team which pioneered the ecosystem for downloadable mobile applications as early as 2003.
As the Co-Founder at TringMe, Apul led the company from conceptualization, product design & development to build a highly scalable unified voice communications platform with built-in geographical redundancy optimized for minimum latency.
TringMe was covered by media worldwide & was awarded the most innovative startup of India by NASSCOM in 2010.
For the past 2 years, Apul was the CTO-in-residence of GenNext Innovation Hub at Reliance Industries (RIL) which has invested in some cutting-edge innovative startups and set up a state-of-the-art Accelerator program with Microsoft Ventures.
Apul mentored over 30+ start-ups. Some of the Startups he mentored have gone ahead & raised millions of dollars in funding.
He holds a M.S. degree in computer science from USC & has a few patents in wireless communication & computing areas.
In his spare time Apul supports his wife who runs an International preschool and is notorious for stripping down gadgets and appliances and reassembling them. His passion is model trains and AR/VR.
